Coldplay pay tribute to Beastie Boy Adam Yauch [WATCH]

Coldplay have paid tribute to the late Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch by performing an acoustic version of one of their songs.

Lead singer Chris Martin turned the hip-hop group’s rap song, Fight For Your Right, into a touching piano ballad during their concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Yauch, known by his stage name MCA, died on Friday after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 47.

Amazing 6-year-old with autism plays piano, wows internet audiences [WATCH]

Ethan Walmark, a six-year-old American boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder, has been playing piano songs by ear since practically birth. A new YouTube video of Ethan playing the Billy Joel classic “Piano Man” went viral this week, amassing more than half a million hits in just five days.

Barack Obama, Jimmy Fallon 'slow jam' the news [WATCH]

US president Barack Obama surprised audiences on Tuesday night when he appeared on the US show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Taped on the campus at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Obama join the comedy host in delivering the news, most notably addressing viewpoints on student loan interest rates in the US.

According to The Washington Post, over 2 million people watched the show on Tuesday night, making it the most viewed episode in two years.

Hard-hitting human trafficking PSA goes viral

A flash mob of ‘prostitutes’ stunned passers-by in Amsterdam’s red light district with a hard-hitting public service announcement (PSA) against human trafficking.

In a video, which has gone viral on YouTube, six ‘sex workers’ strut their stuff in the windows of brothels by the famous canals as tourists wander past.

The advertising campaign was created by Duval Guillaume for Stop The Traffik, a global movement aimed at putting an end to human trafficking.

Santam hits back after Nando's spoof [WATCH]

World leaders, sports heroes, multinational companies – there are very few public figures who haven’t been subjected to, and subject of, one of Nando’s trademark advertising parodies.

Yet Santam, whose recent TV commercial became the subject of one of Nando’s trademark spoofs last month, has hit back at the restaurant chain with the following video response. Take a look.

Zille apologises for 'refugee' comment [WATCH]

DA leader Helen Zille has apologised for referring to Eastern Cape pupils who flocked to her province for better education as “refugees”, it was reported on Tuesday.

“Very sorry because it was never meant in that context at all, and it was never said in that way at all,” she was quoted as saying in the Cape Times.

Her apology on SABC TV on Sunday evening followed her use of the term on social networking site Twitter last month.

BP proposes Gulf spill settlements [WATCH]

BP says it has reached settlements to resolve billions of dollars of claims from the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and asked a US judge for a long delay in any trial over remaining disputes stemming from the disaster.

The London-based oil company expects under Wednesday’s agreements to pay $7.8bn to resolve economic, property and medical claims by more than 100,000 individuals and businesses.

More drama for News Corp as sabotage accusations emerge [WATCH]

Media giant News Corp has been accused of sabotaging its rivals by distributing pirated pay-TV smart cards to millions of customers around the world, adding pressure to the Rupert Murdoch-owned empire already under fire over hacking claims in Britain.

A four year investigation by Australia’s Financial Review newspaper found that the company set up a secret unit to crack the codes of its competitors. The pirated cards were then sold on the black market, costing rival broadcasters tens of millions of dollars.

'Kony' producer's naked meltdown caught on video [WATCH]

The director of a video calling for the arrest of fugitive Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony suffered from a brief psychosis when he was hospitalised last week, the filmmaker’s wife said.

Jason Russell, who directed the 30-minute Kony 2012 internet film that went viral earlier this month, was detained by police in San Diego last week after he was found running through the streets naked, swearing, and displaying other signs of bizarre behaivour.

Man documents life through daily snapshots [WATCH]

A New York man has documented his daily existence by filming one-second snapshots of his life every day as part of a long-term video project.

Cesar Kuriyama, a Brooklyn-based animator, started the project on his 30th birthday and hopes to continue the tradition for the rest of his life.

“If I live to see my eightieth birthday, I’ll leave behind a five-hour video,” he told The Telegraph.

Anger over Red Bull's new 'Jesus' ad [WATCH]

Christian viewers were left fuming on Monday night after viewing a new advertisement for Red Bull energy drink that made ‘insensitive’ references to Jesus. 

Hundreds of viewers launched complaints via social media and directly to the Advertising Standards Authority, calling the campaign ‘offensive’ and ‘blasphemous’.

30 dolphins saved in dramatic rescue mission

Sunbathers relaxing on a beach in Arraial do Cabo, Brazil last week sprang into action to save a pod of dolphins who had washed up on shore and were fighting for their lives. This dramatic video documenting the rescue has since become an internet sensation, and has received over a million views on YouTube in just a few days.

Millions of people around the world were left stunned when a video of Lena Fokina doing ‘baby yoga’ broke on the internet. The 51-year-old Russian was filmed spinning and flipping babies above her head and behind her back in such an outlandish fashion that several websites banned the footage for glorifying what to many would be considered child abuse.
